Eleanor “Ellie” Suggitt, 89, of Eau Claire, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire.

She was born in Jackson County, WI, on January 24, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Ethel (Watson) Tande.  Eleanor married Melvin Anderson in 1946.  They later divorced.  In 1974, she married James “Jim” Suggitt. 

Eleanor was an interior designer owning Ellie’s Interior Designs for 28 years and retired at the age of 85 from Carron Carpets in 2013.  Among her hobbies were traveling all around the U.S.A. in their motorhome.  She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, casino trips with her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She is survived by her three children, Rita (William) Remmel of Eau Claire, Thomas (Cheryl) Anderson of Big Lake, MN, and Konja (Scott) Humphries of Justin, TX; son-in-law, James Malvin of East Bethel, MN; stepchildren, Patricia Candell and Fred Suggitt, both of Eau Claire; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; two children, Kenny Anderson and Amy Malvin; and her sister, Virginia Johnston. 

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W. Grand Ave., Eau Claire.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services Thursday at church.  Burial will be private at Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services in Altoona is serving the family.
