Helen T. Iehl, 93, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at The Rutledge Home with her daughter Gloria by her side.

She was born March 25, 1922, in Eagle Point Township, WI, to Oscar and Gunda (Engen) Hallum.  She attended grade schools in Eagleton and Anson Townships and graduated from Chippewa Falls in 1940.

Helen married Edmund A. Iehl on July 31, 1940, at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.  They were married for 55 years.  She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.  Helen worked for Schultz Brothers Variety Store in Chippewa Falls for 25 years and worked for husband’s electric appliance repair service until his disability.  She then was employed by Northwestern Bank retiring in 1984.

Helen lived in the Chippewa Falls area all her life.  For 42 years, by small Lake Wissota.  She loved to fish and tend to her beautiful flower gardens along with her other hobbies.  She has resided at The Rutledge Home since October of 2012.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Gary) Munson of Eau Claire; three grandsons, Darrell Munson of Chippewa Falls, Paul Munson of Eau Claire, and Dennis Thompson of Montana; two granddaughters, Deb Winters of Eau Claire, and Dawn Powers of Turtle Lake; three great granddaughters, Connee Winters, Maddie Powers, and Megan Munson; and one great-great grandson, Cody Cesafsky; sister-in-law, Donna Hallum of Eau Claire; and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmund; daughter, Connee Thompson; and infant grandson, David; four brothers, James, Howard I, Floyd, Howard II; and her sister, Gladys Hallum Olson.

The family wishes to thank the Rutledge Home staff for the loving care they provided and the Mayo Hospice team for their compassionate care and utmost respect given to mom.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Christ Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, with Pastor Mark Homp officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at church, Monday.  Interment will follow the service at Prairie View Cemetery in Lake Hallie.
