Howard J. “Howie” Anderson, 81, of Chippewa Falls, passed away Wednesday November 1, 2017, at Wisconsin Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls.

Howie was born June 2, 1936, in Gilmanton, WI, the son of Roy and Ida (Brommer) Anderson.  He attended school in Gilmanton before entering the U.S. Airforce.  Following his time in the Airforce, he married Juanita Stokley in California and they had six children together.  She preceded him in death.  On May 11, 1991, Howie married Judy (Eckwright) Buchholtz in Eau Claire.

Howie worked for over 25 years as a tire builder at Uniroyal in Eau Claire until his retirement in 1989.  After retiring, Howie and Judy traveled extensively around the U.S.  He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and many trips to Turtle Lake.  Howie was the jack of all trades for his family and extended family for years.  He will always be remembered as a very kind-hearted and generous giving man.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; five children, Peggy Anderson of Eau Claire, David Anderson of Eau Claire, Brenda (Rick) LaPointe of Eau Claire, Mike (Sue) Anderson of Chippewa Falls, Steve Anderson of Chippewa Falls; three stepchildren, Scott (Nicki) Buchholtz of Chippewa Falls, Brian (Jane) Buchholtz of Bloomer, and Todd Buchholtz of Valley View, TX; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three siblings, Gary Anderson, Dick (Chris) Anderson, Carol (Bob) Collinson all of Eau Claire; also by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Howie was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diana Anderson; grandson, Chad Torpen; sister, Diane Snyder; and brother, Bob Anderson.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, with Pastor Aaron Sturgis officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.  Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Northern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services in Altoona is serving the family.
