Geraldine G. Rudkin died in the care of Pine View Nursing home on October 25, 2017 in Black River Falls, WI.  She was 94.

Gerry  was born on January 6, 1923 in Monroe County to her parents, George and Vina (Brown) Rudkin. She graduated from Black River Falls, High School in 1941. Gerry moved to Milwaukee where she first worked as a hairdresser and a caregiver for her dear friend Sue. She later worked for the Boston Store and retired from there in 1977.  At this juncture in her life she moved back to Black River Falls and worked in activities for the Pine View Nursing Home.

Gerry was a member and volunteered at the Black River Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, including being a Telecare and Lifeline volunteer for over 20 years. She was a volunteer driver for the Department of Health and Human Services, deliverer of meals on wheels and volunteered for Interfaith Caregivers, Inc. for over 20 years. She received their Women of History award in 2000.  Gerry also participated/volunteered in various Church organizations, including the choir.

Ms. Rudkin is survived by her neices Jackie (Burchard) Burlingame, Nancy Burchard, Jean Burchard (Burow) Katy(Rudkin) Johnson, Susie (Rudkin) Calahan, MaryLynn (Rudkin) Smith,  and nephew Jake Phillips. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews who think the world of her. 

Services for Gerry will be held on Monday October 30th, 2017, at 2:00 PM at United Methodist Church in Black River Falls, WI.   Visitation will be prior from 1:00 – 2:00.

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services is serving the family.


Held one hour prior to service at church.
