Bryan L. Tainter

Bryan L. Tainter

September 20, 2017

He came into this world on December 9, 1952 and passed away on September 20, 2017 after a 20-month battle with ALS.

Bryan Lonnie Tainter was born in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin to Floyd and Marian Tainter.  He spent most of his life in the Eau Claire area.  He attended Memorial High School and after high school, he had one year of college at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.  Bryan was then drafted into the United States Army and served our country while stationed in Germany.

On November 7, 2003, he married Robin Schoettle.  With that union, a family of four children was brought together, daughter Alicia Kurschner (David), son, Daniel Tainter (Lauren Neisinger), step-son Scott Schoettle (Jessica) and step-daughterSavannah Schoettle (Jesse Larson). With those children came the grandchildren Savannah, Cole, Lily and Annie.  He loved each and everyone one of them.

He is survived by his wife Robin, all his children and grandchildren, father-in-law Roger Turk, mother-in-lawLaVonne Turk, brothers Anson Tainter and Kevin Balts, sister Patricia Sweeney and step-brother, Charlie Balts.

He is preceded in death by his father Floyd Tainter, mother Marian Balts, step-father Duane Balts and his sisters Fanny and Mabel.

He had several jobs over the years but he was best known for being everyone’s favorite Schwan’s man.  He couldn’t go anywhere without running into a customer that loved him.  His happy personality was contagious.  Bryan was the salesman that came to the door that everyone wanted to see.  He worked for Schwan’s for 33 years and 11 months.

Bryan loved the outdoors and nature.  He loved fishing, hunting, camping, golfing, downhill skiing and baseball to name a few things. Singing and playing guitar brought joy to him and all who listened. He was known at home as the “walking encyclopedia” because he spent a lot of time reading them and usually knew the answer to every trivia question.

He lived his ALS journey with a fearless heart and a determination to make sure everyone he loved was taken care of and that they knew he would be okay.  Even on the last day of his life he was making sure we all knew what to do.  He was a man of faith and heaven bound. Humble and kind would be the best two words to describe him.  We will all miss this gentleman. He ran a good race in this life and now he is getting the prize. It is comforting to know he is walking in heaven with his Mom. There will be no more suffering.
