Warren H. Craker, 95, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Dove Healthcare- West Nursing Home in Eau Claire.

He was born on March 16, 1922, in Holcombe, Wisconsin to Evah (Greenwood) and Earl Barrett Craker.

Warren was a World War II Veteran. He entered the service on March 15, 1945 and served with the U.S. Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre until his Honorable Discharge on December 11, 1946.

Warren was a Landlord in Reedsburg, Wisconsin and a professional Piano Tune, trained in this occupation in a Music School in Chicago, Illinois. He loved his work with people, tuning pianos in homes, schools, churches and with music instructors. His “Piano Grip” contains the tools and imprints of the life-long career in this field.

He is survived by his sister, Gladys Bane of St. Paul, Minnesota, whom she lovingly called “War”. He has many adoring nephews and nieces whom, throughout his life, waited for the next visit from Uncle Warren. He loved his family and took great pride in everyone and his or her accomplishments.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ear and Evah Craker; wife, Irene; eight brothers, Victor, Vinton, Manley, Marvin, Max, Arlie, Lee, Marlowe and five sisters, Chrystal, Shirley, Lorraine, Marion and Juanita.

Warren was a brilliant man, everyone he interacted with became more informed and inspired by his attentiveness, knowledge and interest in so many aspects of life.

Mayo Clinic Health System Home Health & Hospice staff and Dove Healthcare staff made it possible for Warren to remain in his home until just a month before his death. The staff, his neighbors, his family, and friends helped Warren experience quality of life and die with dignity; we are lovingly called, “The Dream Team”.
