Scott R. Nuttelman

Scott R. Nuttelman

August 25, 2017

Scott Richard Nuttelman, age 39 of Eau Claire passed away Friday, August 25, 2017, at home surrounded by loved ones. His cancer journey has come to an end, and we rejoice in the knowledge that he was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven.

Scott was born on August 11th, 1978 in Wisconsin Rapids to Richard and Debra Nuttelman.  His family later moved to Onalaska, where he graduated from Onalaska Luther High School.  Pursuing a passion for knowledge, he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from UW-LaCrosse and a Law Degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Shortly after graduation, Scott moved to Eau Claire for a position as a real estate attorney in the properties dept. at Menards, where he facilitated the purchasing of land for Menards expansion projects. Through mutual friends at Menards, Scott met Michele, and the couple was wed on August 11th, 2007.

Michele lovingly referred to Scott as a “hobby jumper”, but to be sure, Scott pursued many passions and hobbies.  Some of the highlights of his life were spent in nature- hiking in national parks, trout fishing in the Coulee with Dad, and enjoying walleye time and a cold beer on Long Lake at Boyds. He loved to read and collect books, and had an extensive vinyl record collection.  Much of his wardrobe consisted of t-shirts and jerseys cheering on his favorite teams- Packers, Brewers, and Badgers.  Scott loved spending time with friends during activities like volleyball with the Chicken Wing team, golf, dart league, softball, String Cheese & Phish concerts, and fantasy football draft weekend with the guys in CO.  Finally, Scott and Michele shared a love for travel, and that love took them around the world on fantastic adventures to many beautiful places.

When Scott was faced with many health challenges, he met them head on with grace, positivity, and strength.  He turned to the Lord, and became very involved in Peace Church. His strong faith led him to give back to the community through organizations like Feed My People and 513Free.  One of his proudest moments was traveling to the Dominican Republic to build houses with Casas Por Cristo.

Scott is survived by his wife, Michele (Gullikson) Nuttelman of Eau Claire, his parents Richard and Debra (Langrehr) Nuttelman of Holmen, his grandmother Ulamae Langrehr of Bangor, his sister Wendy Nuttelman and brother-in-law Omar Refaat of Portland, OR, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and two adorable cats.  He was preceded in death by Grandpa Harvey Langrehr, Grandpa Harvey Nuttelman and Grandma Marie Nuttelman.
