Velma M. (Bignell) Esping, age 91 of Frederic, formerly of Arkansaw, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Frederic Nursing and Rehab Community in Frederic.

Velma was born on January 16, 1926 in the Round Hill area. She was the daughter of Buhel and Etta (Stewart) Bignell. Velma grew up in the Porcupine area and attended country school there. Velma married Francis T. Kralewski in 1942 in Porcupine. After marriage they lived and raised their family in the Prescott area. Velma worked for Smead for several years. Velma and Francis divorced and Velma later married Donald Esping in 1968. They lived in Ghent, MN. Velma retired and moved to Mesa, Arizona where she lived until 2013. In 2013, Velma moved to Frederic to be closer to family, where she remained the rest of her life.

Velma enjoyed cooking and baking. She liked traveling, taking trips all over the country.

Velma is survived by her children; Crystal Kralewski of Costa Mesa, AZ, Allen Kralewski of Frederic, Karen (Butch) Larson of Marshall, MN, Sara Gohde of Rice Lake and Mark Kralewski of St. Croix Falls, 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by parents, children; Helen Kaneen, Clifton Kralewski, Orville Kralewski, daughter-in-law; Elizabeth Kralewski, and all of her brothers and her sister.

Funeral Services will be 11:30 AM Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Community of Christ Church in Arkansaw with Rev. Dan Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Round Hill Cemetery in the Town of Waterville, rural Arkansaw. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of services at the church on Monday.
