Jonathan "Jon" Amos Vance, 47 of Eau Claire passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital with family and friends by his side. 

Jon was born on January 30, 1970 in Eau Claire at Sacred Heart Hospital to Rodger and Grace Vance.  He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and Confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church both of Eau Claire. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1988. He was a graduate of Chippewa Valley Technical College and achieved journeyman status in the carpentry industry. Jon worked in the construction field throughout the Eau Claire area. Jon was always willing to share his knowledge, time, and talent with family and friends.   

Jon is preceded in death by his father, Charles Rodger Vance; mother Grace Thorson Vance; maternal grandparents, Amos and Julia Thorson; and paternal grandparents Roy and Amanda Vance.

Jon is survived by his son Connor Jon Vance of Eleva, his former spouse Simone Vance; brothers Roy (Sue) Vance of Eau Claire, Daniel (Lil) Vance of Gilbert, AZ; sisters Donna Novak of Red Wing, MN, Deb (Rick) Stai of Clarksville, TN, Charlotte (John) Scholze of Spring Hill, KS; uncles, Pete (Arlene) Vance of Altoona, Don (Norma) Vance of Eau Claire, John Green of St Paul, MN; Steve Novak of Hager City, WI; and many nieces and nephews. 

Jon’s family would like to thank the Sacred Heart Hospital ER and Critical Care staff, for all of their loving care and compassion to Jon and the whole family during this time; with a special thank you to Todd and Keagan.

Memorial service will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home with Pastor Frederick W. Theiste officiating.  Memorial visitation without viewing will take place at the funeral home on Saturday from 11am until the time of service.  Inurnment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.

Visitation

Memorial visitation without viewing will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home from 11 am until the time of service.

Service

Memorial service will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home with Pastor Frederick W. Theiste officiating.
