John A. Langley, 93, of Chippewa Falls, WI, formerly of Black River Falls, WI, and Zion, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Wissota Place in Chippewa Falls.

He was born October 31, 1923, in Monroe County, Indiana, the son of John P. and Laura E. (Polley) Langley.  John served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, was decorated with the Bronze Star and honorably discharged.  He later graduated from Purdue University and worked as an engineer for many years.  On August 14, 1949, he married Mary E. Ward in Indiana.  They retired together to Black River Falls, WI, in 1987. 

John is survived by his three sons, Stephen (Jeanie) Langley of Chippewa Falls, Patrick (Gaylene) Langley of Evergreen, CO, and Dennis (Luann) Langley of Janesville, WI; two grandchildren, Heather & Blake Orth; and by one sister, Doris (Dale) West of Sun City, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2006.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Mae Rowan Ecumenical Center (located at Wissota Health Care Center), Chippewa Falls.

Memorials are preferred to Macular Degeneration Research, 22512 Gateway Center Dr., Clarksburg, MD  20871.
