Murvel “Bud” L. Waite, 94, of Eau Claire, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona.

Murvel was born in Menomonie, WI, to the late Ella (Schultz) and Howard Wait and married Lucille (Schoen) Waite in 1946.  He was married for 51 years and only parted when she was called to heaven in 1997.

He served in the military during WWII from January 1942 through March 1945.  He was stationed at Muroc Army Air Field in Muroc, CA.

He worked for Uniroyal his entire working career before retiring in 1982.  He gave many suggestions to Uniroyal management and was compensated for his innovative procedures to increase production goals.  He was a proud union employee.

Bud had two passions; one was dancing many nights away at the Moose Lodge and other dance halls in the area.  Collecting antique cars was his second passion and received many awards for his old cars.

Bud was a longtime member of St. John’s Church and was a strong Christian man.

Family was the important thing for Bud and it showed in his involvement in his immediate family and extended family.  He had a kind word to say about everyone and enjoyed his life to the fullest.

He is survived by a daughter, Celeste (Roger) Rud of Eleva, and a son, Mark (Deborah) Waite of Eau Claire, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ella Anderson, father Howard Wait, step-father Alfred Anderson, and a sister, Mary Lou Waite.

The family wishes to thank Oakwood Villa Nursing Home for the care and friendship provided for Murvel.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701 with Pastor Nathan Aaseng officiating.  Visitation will take place at the church an hour prior to the service. Private family entombment will take place in the Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum in the Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.
