Beverly J. Zdan Wright Gleiter

December 29, 2016

Beverly June Zdan Wright Gleiter, 84, of Eau Claire, went to be with her Lord on December 29, 2016 at Dove Healthcare-West. She died after a brief illness with Pancreatic Cancer.

On July 21, 1932 she was born to Georgella (Hall) and Stephen Zdan in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from Clarkson Nursing School in Omaha as a Registered Nurse and married Dr. William E. Wright on July 5, 1953 in Omaha. They resided and raised their family in Mondovi, Wisconsin for 27 years. She later married Melvin E. Gleiter in Mondovi on April 17, 2004 and they resided in Eau Claire. Beverly worked as a registered nurse at the Mayo Clinic Hospital until her retirement in 2004.

Beverly loved music and was a proud member of the Chippewa Valley Gospel Choir and also sang in the Sweet Adelines. She was an active member of Peace Church in Eau Claire. Beverly loved to travel throughout the U.S. and abroad. She taught in Africa and China. After her marriage to Melvin Gleiter, they continued to travel the world and especially enjoyed their trip to the Holy Land. She lovingly donated her time and resources to helping others, especially Jail Ministry, World Vision (an organization that helps needy children overseas), and Teamwork Africa. Through Peace church members she raised funds for water wells, as well as motorcycles and helmets for ministers in Africa.

Besides her husband Melvin, she is survived by her children William E. Wright III of Issaquah, Washington, Stephanie Stamm of Mondovi, Susan (Craig) Bursaw of Mondovi, and Colin (Ann) Wright of Eau Claire, two step sons Tim Gleiter of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Jim (Kathleen) Gleiter of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, her grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Stamm, Kyle Stamm, Alexander, Jacob, and Nicholas Bursaw, and Winona and William Wright IV, and step grandchildren Sarah and Ben Gleiter, and great grandchildren Lily, Gaby, Carson, Chase, and Collyns Stamm. Preceding her in death were her parents, her sisters, Shirley Payne and Susan Zdan, and grandson Colin Wright II.

The family wishes to thank Mayo Hospice, Osseo Hospital and Dove Healthcare West for their generous care and concern.
