Constance J. Johnson

Constance J. Johnson

August 9, 2016

Our beloved ‘Con-Con’ spread her angelic wings and joined her heavenly family unexpectedly in the early morning hours of August 9th, 2016.  Connie celebrated her 75th birthday on July 24th.

Constance Jean (Tauger) Johnson was born in Eau Claire, WI to Stanley and Carmen (Kopplin) Tauger.

Connie married David Johnson and they were blessed in marriage for more than 50 years.  Also surviving her are their children; Mark Meuret, Julie (Brian) Wingad, John, Wendy (Jeff) Johnson, Scott (Tara), Rick Eisold, Ted (Karrie) Eisold as well as her precious grandchildren;  Lucas, Matthew (Alicia), Jaylene, Nathan, Nicholas, Brett, Carmen, Jackson, Brice, Zachary, Amber, Gage and her precious great-grandchildren Addy, Brooklyn and Everett.

She is further survived by her loving sister Judy (Dave) Koshoshek, her brother Terry (Cheri) Tauger (whom she affectionately called her baby brother), her uncle Charles Kopplin and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as her dear girlfriends who were like sisters; Patsy Bahr, Jeanne Wahl, Barb Speckien.  She loved and cherished each and every one of you dearly!

Connie worked many years at Lowes Creek Golf Course where she lovingly was known to all as Con-Con.  She met and maintained many friendships from her time there.

Through the hundreds of hearts she touched she made a huge difference.  She dazzled, humored and truly taught everyone she met to live and love everyone and not judge.  She frequently quoted, “you never know someone’s story until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.”  She would give her last nickel to someone in need just because she always felt there was someone worse off.  She had more friends than one could even hope to meet in one lifetime.  These friends included childhood friends that she still had lunches with, card club friends of nearly 40 years, birthday club besties, Lowes Creek Golf Course friends and her sweet friends from St. John’s Apartments where she resided.  She was the recipient of the Sunshine Award, nominated by her friends at St. John’s for being so amazing to everyone during their time of need.  She would try her hardest to turn a frown into a smile, even if it meant sacrificing her own beautiful selfless smile.  As a Mom she will always be remembered for her tireless and endless hours of nurturing and caring for her beloved children.  As a grandma and great-grandma she was the best!  The smell of her Red Door perfume, along with her loving hugs, kisses, thrift sale adventures and ‘lil rides as well as being told ‘you’re my favorite’ will be greatly missed!

Sorry Mom, the statement that each of us often made, “someday we will miss you calling multiple times a day, often back to back,” that day unfortunately has arrived.  We further appreciatenow, you calling to see about our well-being and whereaboutsand certainly it’s a trait that you instilled in your children and grandchildren.  We will miss you so much Mom! Thank you for teaching us that Life ain’t always beautiful, but it’s a BEAUTIFUL ride!

Connie touched the lives of so many and will be missed!
