Anita Faye Ickstadt, Dove Healthcare Rutledge Home, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, died August 7, 2016 at 12:00 noon. She was born May 22, 1927, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Herman Theron and Margaret Emma (Bergemann) Jackson.  Anita graduated from the Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 1945. Anita’s grandfather, G.E. Bergemann founded the Winnebago Lutheran Academy. He was minister at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac and was president of the Wisconsin Lutheran Synod for many years.  Anita’s father, Herman Jackson worked as a linotype operator for many years at the Fond du Lac Commonwealth Newspaper.  Anita played a reed organ for 10 years for services at Faith Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.  Anita worked for 10 years for Damrow Brothers Company in Fond du Lac as a secretary in the engineering department.  Anita married Donald W. Ickstadt, formerly from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, on May 8, 1954 at Faith Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.  Anita was a dedicated and loving homemaker, wife and mother, raised five children and lived in Eau Claire, Wisconsin for many years.  Anita enjoyed music and playing her baby grand piano.  Anita was a member of Saint Matthew Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Anita was pleasant to everyone that she came in contact with and she will be greatly missed.

Our family would like to acknowledge the excellent and loving care that Anita received from the staff and administration during her years residing at the Rutledge Home.  We would also like to thank The Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice staff for their assistance in Anita’s care.

Survivors include her three sons, George (Bonita) of Eleva, Wisconsin, William (Kathleen) of Valparaiso, Indiana, James (Jean) of Woodbury, Minnesota, two daughters Susan Ickstadt of Madison, Wisconsin, and Joanne Ickstadt of Denver, Colorado; two grandchildren, Alicia Ickstadt and Matthew Ickstadt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Margaret Jackson, brother and sister-in-law, Hans and Anna Jackson, and her husband, Donald Ickstadt.

Funeral service will take place at 11 am on Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1915 Hogeboom Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701 with Pastor Steven D. Rutter officiating.  Visitation will take place on Thursday evening from 4-7 pm at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home and at the church Friday morning an hour prior to the service.  Committal service will take place Friday afternoon at 1:30 pm in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Anita’s name to the Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, Wisconsin or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will take place from 4-7 pm on Thursday evening at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home and at the church Friday morning an hour prior to the service.

Funeral service will take place at 11 am on Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven D. Rutter officiating.
