Angelo "Angie" Speros, age 79 of Eau Claire passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Angie was born in Eau Claire, WI to John Speros and Caroline (Zartoulas) Speros on Oct 12, 1934 and remained a lifelong resident of Eau Claire. He was married to Alva D. Misselt on March 10, 1962, at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church. Angie grew up working in the family business which was the Paradise Bar and Cafe in downtown Eau Claire until the Fall of 1970. He began a second career in the manufactured home industry working for Steenburg Homes in Eau Claire from 1971 to 1977 before opening his own business known as Holiday Homes  Hwy 53 in Hallie,which he operated  from 1977 until his retirement in Dec of 1999.

Angie served overseas as a supply control specialist with the 7th Army Engineering Depot in Kaiserslautern Germany from his induction in Dec of 1956 to Dec, 1958 followed by two years active reserve stateside. 

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Alva; Eau Claire, sister Marie Spoerri; Milwaukee,  many loving nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog 'Buffy'.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Stella Noe; brothers Peter, Ernest and Paul.

Angie had the gift mirth and would brighten the day of those around him with a quip or a joke even if it was at his own expense. He was quietly and unassumingly kind and generous to a fault to both people and animals. He took special joy in improving the fate of abandoned or mistreated animal and was a regular benefactor to area humane associations and instrumental in the construction of natural habitats at the Irvine Park Zoo.

He will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home in Eau Claire with Father John Schultz officiating.  Visitation will take place on Saturday at the funeral home an hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire immediately following the service with military honors being rendered by American Legion Post #53.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Angie's name to the Eau Claire or Chippewa County Humane Association.
